New Chellee Overdrive Pedal
New Chellee Overdrive Pedal
A few months ago I began building myself an overdrive pedal. While the circuit is not too uncommon among production pedals, most of those on the market use inferior components in order to increase the bottom line. I wanted to get that classic overdrive tone without the noise and mud associated with these cheaper components.
The Chellee Odie (O.D.) Overdrive pedal is just that. Boutique quality parts hand wired and assembled. It’s smooth overdrive is a classic, especially in front of a tube amp. But the Odie is not quite your standard run-of-the-mill boutique overdrive. Like most audio circuits, there are several components that shape the tone of this pedal to taste. But why should there be such a thing as “The Perfect Overdrive for All”? While there is such a thing as a stock Odie pedal, the Odie vision is to provide my clients with the Chellee Guitar treatment - custom built just for you. You can meet with me and tryout the Odie Pro, an overdrive box equipped with switchable components to provide you with the most useful variations of the circuit. Simply noodle around with the different combinations available to achieve a personal tone that fits your style and gear. The stock Odie comes with a switchable clipping section to vary the shape of the overdrive. Choose your two favorite (the Odie Pro has 78 clipping modes and, don’t worry, there will be a manual).
If you’re having trouble narrowing it down you can get up to three clipping modes on your Odie. You can also have the bass boost/cut switch added. The Odie Pro is a great option for studios and those of us that really like to tweak stuff.
